We become the legal employer of the linemen, substation technicians, solar and wind construction crews and storm responders that build and restore the grid. Weekly W-2 payroll with storm pay, per diem and prevailing wage, DOT programs for the fleet, workers compensation matched to utility classifications, and crews that can cross state lines the same day the mutual aid call comes in.
BOOK A CONSULTATIONUtility work follows the weather and the capital plan. A hurricane puts crews from six states on the road in a day under mutual aid, with storm rates, sixteen hour days and per diem that have to be paid correctly in a state the contractor may never have worked in. A transmission rebuild or a solar farm puts the same crews in one county for a year under prevailing wage and certified payroll.
The employer behind those crews has to be registered everywhere already, run DOT programs for the bucket trucks, carry comp underwritten for energized work, and scale up and down with the season without fees. Revelation was built on the Gulf Coast, where the storm season is a line item, to do exactly that.
Revelation is headquartered in Mobile, Alabama, with offices in Houston and Pascagoula. We employ utility and renewable construction crews across the Southeast and the Gulf every week.
You decide who works, on which circuit or site, under whose supervision. Revelation becomes the legal employer and absorbs every obligation behind that decision.
These are the obligations that separate grid employment from desk employment. A single storm mobilization touches all four.
Mutual aid moves crews into states where the contractor has no registration, no unemployment account and no comp policy. Doing it right after the fact means penalties; doing it slowly means missing the call. Revelation already operates in all 50 states, so storm crews are legally employed where they land the day they arrive.
Federally funded grid hardening, resilience and renewable projects require prevailing wages by craft and locality, documented through certified payroll. Many state and municipal utility projects carry parallel rules. Revelation produces the reporting from the same system that runs the weekly cycle, which makes publicly funded work biddable.
Bucket trucks, diggers and material handlers put CDL holders under federal motor carrier rules: driver qualification files, consortium drug and alcohol testing, and hours of service. Revelation enrolls employees and maintains the files as part of employment.
Line and substation classifications carry among the highest workers compensation rates in the country, and a single serious incident raises your cost of labour for three years. Revelation classifies correctly, manages claims to closure and runs return to work programs to protect the modification rate. See risk and insurance →
Software led EOR platforms are built to onboard a knowledge worker in a new jurisdiction. A line crew asks for things their model does not contain.

Transmission, distribution, substation, renewables and storm response.
You own the utility relationship and the invoicing. Revelation runs as your back office employment engine: onboarding, weekly storm and project payroll, workers compensation, certified payroll, DOT programs, benefits and HR, under white labelled documentation carrying your branding. Built for utility contractors and energy staffing firms that hold the relationships and need compliant employment behind them.
Revelation operates as a full employment partner: contracts, terms, certificates of insurance, client billing and accounts receivable, with consultative support on safety, pricing and contract structure. Built for firms expanding into new territories that want the full operational stack and the receivable risk carried for them.
“We believe great partnerships build great businesses, and every relationship we enter is one we invest in for the long term.”
Clarissa Hamilton, PresidentThe EOR becomes the legal employer of your line, substation and renewable crews. It runs weekly payroll with storm rates and per diem, withholds and files taxes in every state the crew works, carries workers compensation matched to utility classifications, produces certified payroll on funded projects, administers benefits and runs DOT programs. You keep full control of who works, on which job, and under whose supervision.
Yes. Revelation already operates in all 50 states, so a crew that leaves Alabama tonight under mutual aid is legally employed in Florida or the Carolinas when it arrives, with withholding, unemployment insurance and workers compensation in place.
Yes. Rates are applied by craft and locality, hours are documented and certified payroll reports are generated from the same system that runs the weekly cycle.
Headcount scales down with no termination fees and no entity to unwind. When the next event or project comes, the same crews can be re employed in days with their qualification and DOT records intact.
No. A staffing agency finds and supplies workers. An Employer of Record employs workers you have already identified and carries the payroll, tax, insurance and compliance obligations of employing them. Revelation is an EOR and is often engaged alongside a contractor's existing recruiting function.
